ZONE were appointed in the summer of 2015 to design an apartment block on a spectacular site next to the Tweed and adjacent to Kingsmeadows House. The proposed building sits to the rear of the late 18th century house which had latterly been used as holiday flats but is now being converted back to apartments.
The new building matches the scale and quality of the existing house and its form mirrors the original building, extending a courtyard to provide an attractive service space. the large apartments will have generous windows and terrace spaces and have been designed to make the most of exceptional views on three sides of parkland and river. Planning Permission was granted in Principle in March 2016 and work is expected to start on site in 2017.
