Our Clients are keen golfers and gardeners and asked us to design a sunny and bright, energy-efficient house on a spacious plot on the edge of St Andrews. Planning permission was granted by Fife Council for this newbuild house early in 2023 and it is currently on site with completion programmed for the Spring of 2025.
The house is stretched along the north side of the site and its linear form means all living and bedrooms look over the garden and will get the most of the sun. More carefully framed views through smaller windows to the north and east will offer glimpses of the fields beyond.
The house is designed to be calm with an emphasis on natural and durable materials. It is being designed largely to passivhaus principles with a highly insulated external envelope, triple glazing and MVHR.
