ZONE are carrying out a comprehensive overhaul and extension to this Victorian house in the Inverleith area of Edinburgh. The house was showing signs of decay and was draughty, difficult to heat and was separated from its extensive garden. The project involves a complete interior refit with a focus on achieving maximum energy efficiency for a period property of this age.
The rear extension will provide a brightly lit open plan family living space, in contrast to the period rooms of the main house. It leads to new garden designed around the needs of a young family. Planning consent was granted in early 2020 and contractor McKenzie Hughes will start on site in June 2020.
